Abstract
Notre propos est d'examiner a l'aide des donnees de l'Enquete sur la dynamique du travail et du revenu (EDTR) l'evolution des salaires relatifs des travailleurs instruits et moins instruits dans la premiere partie de la decennie 1990. Nous nous attachons tout particulierement au role du commerce international dans la determination des differences salariales entre les travailleurs titulaires d'un diplome d'etudes postsecondaires et les autres. Nous montrons que, s'il n'y avait pas eu une croissance relativement superieure de l'offre de main-d'oeuvre plus instruite, l'ecart salarial entre ces deux categories de travailleurs aurait augmente. Une fois pris en compte certains des facteurs qui influent le plus probablement sur les salaires reels, nous constatons que le commerce international a eu un effet positif appreciable sur les salaires tant des travailleurs instruits que des travailleurs moins instruits. Toutefois, l'incidence sur les premiers parait quadruple environ, c'est-a-dire en gros semblable a celle de l'evolution technologique.
