Abstract
Une interprétation féministe des métaphores de médiation révèle les théories féministes informant deux films qui traitent de cuisine et de résolution des conflits. Les deux films Chocolat et Fried Green Tomatoes mettent en vedette des médiatrices fortes, « déguisées » en cheffes, qui aident les autres à résoudre leurs disputes. Chocolat et Fried Green Tomatoes construisent les médiatrices comme des héroïnes féministes et offrent un commentaire théorique féministe. Les films démontrent que différentes formes de féminisme peuvent s’allier avec succès et qu’il est possible de résister au pouvoir des grands récits du patriarcat en utilisant la médiation, plutôt que le droit. Les médiatrices dans les films Chocolat et Fried Green Tomatoes conservent leurs ambitions, obtiennent la légitimité en milieu patriarcal, emploient la parole comme technique de résistance ainsi que la narration comme moyen de modifier la dynamique du pouvoir et, ce faisant, se retrouvent campées comme des héroïnes féministes amusantes.
