Abstract
A hidronefrose pode afetar um ou ambos os rins, ela decorre, muitas vezes da obstrucao parcial ou completa do fluxo da urina, causando a dilatacao da pelve e comprometimento funcional progressivo. Como tratamento, principalmente nos casos avancados, e indicado o procedimento de nefrectomia.Entretanto, essa tecnica nao esta indicada em pacientes com coagulopatias.Portanto, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar um relato de caso de um animal da especie canina, raca labrador, com seis anos e oito meses de idade e pesando 42kg. Os sinais clinicos apresentados foram perda de peso, apatia, queda de pelos e distensao abdominal. Foi realizada a ultrassonografia onde o resultado foi indicativo de hidronefrose. O tratamento de escolha foi por video cirurgia, atraves do procedimento de nefrectomia total do rim direito. O procedimento cirurgico foi realizado com sucesso, tendo o animal recebido alta clinica e os tutores orientados sobre todos os cuidados que deveriam ser seguidos em casa ate o termino do tratamento terapeutico pos-cirurgico.
