Abstract
Qarmaapik est un projet pilote de Maison de la famille à Kangiqsualujjuaq au Nunavik, un équipement communautaire qui a pour objectif de renforcer les liens sociaux dans ce village. Cet article est une investigation tissée au croisement de l’architecture et de l’ethnographie, interrogeant certains aspects de l’habiter inuit, dans un contexte (post)colonial. La méthode employée est l’observation participante, accompagnée de croquis ethnographiques, d’entretiens semi-directifs et de relevés habités. Dans la Maison de la famille Qarmaapik, les seuils sont constitués de dispositifs complexes afin de ne pas être des lieux de coupure mais de gestion de l’intimité. L’étude des aspects physiques, sociaux et symboliques des seuils intérieurs et extérieurs met en évidence d’une part la place de ce lieu dans le continuum espace privé – espace public, et d’autre part l’importance de la mise en relations des individus.
