L’héritage industriel minier et agricole de l’Algérie appartient à la période coloniale. Plus de cinquante ans après l’indépendance du pays, se pose la question de sa connaissance et de sa reconnaissance patrimoniale. Cet article essaiera de retracer l’évolution des biens culturels classés pendant et après la colonisation et de leur perception. Pour cela, il est proposé, dans un premier temps, de définir l’importance et les particularités de cet héritage à travers l’impact du processus de l’industrialisation au niveau social, économique et technique dans une période coloniale. Dans un deuxième temps, il analysera les raisons de la faible reconnaissance du patrimoine industriel par les instances culturelles algériennes, ce qui pourrait constituer une menace pour les biens en question, mais aussi un déficit dans l’affirmation et la valorisation de l’identité d’une ville et d’une région.
