Clermont Gauthier est une figure marquante des sciences de l’éducation dans toute la francophonie. Premier titulaire d’une chaire du Canada en éducation au Québec, il est l’un des fondateurs du Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la formation et la profession enseignante (CRIFPE). Ses recherches ont toujours eu pour point central la formation des enseignants et la pédagogie. Cet ouvrage d’entretiens fait état de son parcours professionnel, lequel s’étend sur plus de quarante ans. Il retrace également les principaux aspects de sa pensée : qu’est-ce que la pédagogie ? Comment repenser la formation des enseignants ? Qu’est-ce qu’un enseignement efficace ? Qu’en est-il de la professionnalisation de l’enseignement ? Au fil des entretiens, il aborde aussi d’autres questions importantes, telles la collaboration avec les pays en développement, les transformations qu’a connues le travail de professeur d’université et la recherche comme activité d’écriture. En répondant aux questions de Stéphane Martineau , Clermont Gauthier nous livre ici une synthèse captivante de son parcours et de sa pensée.
