Ray Tracing (RT) has been widely used to evaluate the characteristics of wireless channels in indoor and outdoor environments. However, for RT to be accurate at mm-wave frequencies, it is essential to account for the effect of diffuse scattering, especially at rough surface boundaries. This paper is aimed at modeling diffuse mm- wave reflection and transmission from rough slabs, such as walls and windows. We use the Finite-Difference Time-Domain method to derive reflection and transmission coefficients for rough slabs and map them to diffuse scattering models that can be directly integrated with ray-tracing.
