Le fonds Dumoulin, qui constitue la cote AA 1 des archives communales de Saint-Claude, est composé de sept recueils manuscrits, allant du registre relié de grandes dimensions au cahier simplement cousu ou assemblé, et de feuillets volants ou pliés par deux ou trois. Il forme une sorte de cartulaire de la ville, de l’abbaye et de la terre de Saint-Claude, du XIIIème aux dernières années du XVIIIème siècle.
