Abstract
Dans le cadre d’une recherche exploratoire, 18 femmes, âgées entre 18 et 64 ans, hébergées en maison pour femmes en difficulté dans les régions des Laurentides et de l’Outaouais (Québec), ont été rencontrées dans le but de mieux comprendre leur trajectoire résidentielle. Les entretiens ont permis de saisir des enjeux plus larges que leurs parcours marqués par la violence. En effet, les femmes sont en situation de grande précarité à plusieurs égards. Néanmoins, malgré leurs conditions d’existence, les femmes démontrent une grande résilience et ne veulent surtout pas être étiquetées et peuvent même se priver de services de peur de l’être. Elles sont stigmatisées et se situent en marge des parcours et des normes sociales établies. À partir du point de vue des femmes, l’article met en lumière leurs conditions de vie en démontrant les enjeux de normativités, d’inégalités sociales, de pouvoir et d’injustice derrière leurs parcours.
