Qual o papel da Vitamina D? Orlando Ambrogini JuniorA vitamina D, no organismo, provém da dieta e particularmente, da sua síntese na pele a partir da conversão do 7-dehidrocolesterol (pró-vitamina D) pela ação dos raios UVB solares.Circula ligada a uma proteína (DBP) e na sua ativação participam enzimas citocromo P450 mitocondriais.No fígado sofre a primeira hidroxilação, transformando-se em 25-OH-vitamina D, que é a forma circulante mais abundante.No rim sofre uma segunda hidroxilação, passando à forma 1,25-(OH)2-vitamina D, a forma ativa da vitamina D 1 .A atividade da 1-α-hidroxilase renal é regulada pelo paratormônio, cálcio, fósforo e calcitriol (vitamina D 3 ) por mecanismo de feed--back negativo.A forma ativa da vitamina D promove a absorção de cálcio e fósforo no intestino e a reabsorção do fósforo no túbulo proximal renal.Através do aumento da concentração de cálcio extracelular controla, indiretamente, a secreção de paratormônio.Existem receptores para a vitamina D em linfócitos (T e B), monócitos, adipócitos, hipófise, ovários, testículos, mamas, próstata, timo e músculo cardíaco.
