L’histoire de la tradition philosophique occidentale atteste d’une problématisation croissante de l’idée de vérité. À l’idée d’une vérité absolue s’est substituée l’idée d’une vérité relative et fragmentée. Entre le sujet et le monde, la distance n’a cessé de s’amplifier et les médiations de se multiplier. Ce rapport médiatisé et distancié à la vérité, qui se résume dans la prise de conscience du lien intrinsèque entre la vérité et l’historicité, conduit à douter de l’idée même de vérité. Est-il possible de sauvegarder la transcendance de l’idée de vérité tout en faisant droit à sa nécessaire condition d’immanence ? S’appuyant sur la pensée de Jean Ladrière, cette étude répond par l’affirmative en cherchant à penser la vérité comme l’événement toujours à venir de la coïncidence de la vérité « pour nous » et de la « vérité en soi ».
