Abstract
El presente trabajo se realiza con el objetivo de optimizar la duración de los períodos de operación de un complejo azucarero integrado que opera todo el año procesando caña energética como materia prima al terminar la zafra azucarera, para su realización se tomó como objeto de estudio el central Melanio Hernández, en el que se propone una planta para cogenerar todo el año utilizando esta alternativa de combustible para después de la zafra. Para la realización del mismo se planteó una función objetivo en la que se persigue maximizar las ganancias anuales del complejo integrado y su planteamiento se basa en la variación que tendrán los costos variables de operación sobre todo de la destilería y la planta de cogeneración a partir de los aportes de miel y bagazo que se puedan obtener en cada uno de los períodos de operación. Los resultados más importantes que se alcanzan con el trabajo demuestran la factibilidad de la optimización realizada, la validez de la función objetivo obtenida y la importancia que sigue teniendo para la rentabilidad de un complejo integrado con estas características el período de producción azucarera.
