Abstract
La langue de Charlevoix et du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean : un francais qui a du caractere est un ouvrage qui s’appuie sur la linguistique et sur les methodes de la lexicographie moderne, tout en restant accessible au grand public. La premiere partie du livre donne un apercu geographique et historique des regions de Charlevoix et du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Elle traite ensuite succinctement de la variation geographique du francais en contexte quebecois, puis elle rappelle les principaux travaux qui ont porte sur la langue de ces regions. Enfin, elle brosse un tableau des traits linguistiques qui caracterisent le plus cette variete de francais. La deuxieme partie est constituee d’un dictionnaire comprenant quelque 260 articles ou sont decrits pres de 500 mots ou emplois caracteristiques du francais de ces regions. Ceux-ci sont illustres par de nombreux exemples puises dans diverses sources (œuvres litteraires, journaux, chansons, films). Le dictionnaire indique en outre l’origine des mots traites.
