Abstract
La présente contribution propose un regard sur l’évolution de la représentation de l’histoire autochtone dans les différents programmes d’histoire nationale au Québec et dans les manuels scolaires depuis les années 1980 jusqu’à nos jours. Deux périodes servent d’exemples. Quel est le poids du culturalisme et de l’eurocentrisme dans la perception des sociétés précolombiennes ? Comment les manuels tiennent-ils compte de l’exigence de parler des pensionnats autochtones au Canada et au Québec, à la suite des conclusions de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation du Canada (CVR) ? Quelles sont les marges de liberté à propos de l’agentivité autochtone et l’équilibre entre empathie et pensée historique ?
