Abstract
L’expérience contemporaine de l’espace est marquée par la virtualisation et la mondialisation qui provoquent un « nivellement du lieu et [un] effacement de ses marques distinctives » (Élisabeth Nardout-Lafarge). À l’ère du post-exotisme, le lieu rejoint la ville-monde, « noeud de commutation des réseaux mondiaux » (François Moriconi-Ebrard). Il n’est plus instable ni incertain : il est en crise. Dans Envoyée spéciale de Jean Echenoz (2016), les constituants d’un triptyque spatial improbable – Paris, le département de la Creuse, Pyongyang –, sont parodiquement mis sur un même plan, celui du simulacre : la ville et le village échangent leurs signes, une capitale secrète s’ouvre au monde. L’analyse de ces lieux permet d’observer un voile d’uniformité qui estompe les particularités nationales et locales. Notre article s’intéresse à l’une des actualisations échenoziennes de cet arasement spatial : le recours aux techniques cinématographiques. Sorte de grand imagier, le narrateur multiplie les effets déréalisants de zoom, il ménage des raccords entre les plans et entre les lieux rapprochés par le montage, il varie les angles de caméra en jouant avec la focalisation et traverse l’espace à coup de travelling.
