L’histoire seigneuriale laurentienne : à propos de tendances récentes de la recherche1

Abstract
L’histoire seigneuriale québécoise connaît un certain engouement depuis le début du XXIe siècle. Cet article vise à présenter les développements récents de la recherche – notamment sur l’administration seigneuriale au féminin, les Autochtones dans le régime seigneurial, les persistances et les mémoires du régime seigneurial – et à faire ressortir quelques-unes de ses nouveautés. Le propos sera également axé sur un double enjeu lié à la complexification de notre compréhension de l’univers seigneurial et à la question de sa singularité, en revenant notamment sur un débat récent concernant la nature du « système » seigneurial laurentien. Une réflexion conclusive portera sur deux avenues de recherches possibles pour l’avenir en histoire seigneuriale : celles de la modernité non radicale et de la féodalité tardive.
