Abstract
La presence de comportements-defis chez des adultes deficients intellectuels souleve de nombreux problemes theoriques et pratiques. Les reactions du personnel educatif sont a prendre en consideration parmi les variables qui influent leur maintien et leur prise en charge. La presente recherche postule que les croyances du personnel educatif sur les causes des comportements-defis sont un facteur important qui determine les reactions. Deux etudes sont menees aupres d'educateurs et d'educatrices pour identifier leurs croyances sur les causes de trois comportements. Les resultats montrent que les participants developpent des croyances conformes aux theories explicatives recensees dans les recherches. Ces croyances sur les causes sont stables et elles ont des implications pour la formation du personnel.
