La recherche examine la motivation d’élèves à l’égard de la grammaire selon deux composantes : les attentes de succès et la valeur accordée à la grammaire. Ainsi, 58 élèves québécois de 2e secondaire ont répondu à un questionnaire évaluant leur motivation en grammaire. Puis, les différences selon le genre et le rendement antérieur en grammaire et en écriture ont été examinées. Les résultats révèlent une corrélation entre les deux composantes de la motivation. De plus, ces deux composantes diffèrent selon le rendement en grammaire et en écriture des élèves, mais pas selon le genre. Ces résultats orientent la recherche et l’intervention futures pour motiver les élèves en grammaire et, ultimement, favoriser le développement de leur compétence en écriture.
