Abstract
À travers les trajectoires de deux intellectuels péruviens, José de la Riva-Agüero (1885-1944) et Francisco García Calderón (1883-1953), dans la période de l’entre-deux-Guerres, cet article examine les différentes dimensions de l’anticommunisme dans les milieux de l’aristocratie et de la diplomatie péruviennes et européennes. Que ce soit dans l’analyse qu’ils font du fascisme en Italie, dans leur position dans la controverse entre l’indigénisme et l’hispanisme au Pérou, ou dans leur rôle d’homme politique ou de diplomate, l’anticommunisme apparaît comme un trait de communauté dans leur exil en Europe, et comme un biais de définition d’une identité péruvienne. Cette étude de cas sera aussi l’occasion de dresser un court bilan de l’historiographie de l’anticommunisme au Pérou, quasi-inexistante pour les périodes relatives au xixe siècle et à la première moitié du xxe siècle.
