Abstract
Este artigo pretende analisar e comparar a historiografia sobre a historia do petroleo do Brasil e da Argentina, dando enfase as caracteristicas politicas de ambos os paises e como elas moldaram seu desenvolvimento energetico e economico. Este artigo tambem pretende perceber de que forma a nova historiografia pode contribuir para a compreensao da economia politica do petroleo nos dois paises e quais oportunidades ela oferece para novos pesquisadores na area.
