Hongrois d'origine, fils d'un violoniste eleveur de chevaux, Vic est l'enfant doue du jazz. Musicien, arrangeur, chef d'orchestre et compositeur, il a joue aux cotes de Miles Davis, d'Oscar Peterson, de Sammy Davis, de Michel Legrand. A accompagne Barbara, Eddie Constantine, Alys Robi, Veronique Sanson. La liste est longue. Figure celebre du Festival de Jazz de Montreal, Vogel est une institution. Rebelle, rigoureux, flamboyant, il est le premier a avoir redonne un souffle aux creations du grand compositeur Andre Mathieu. Vic a ete le « son » d'une kyrielle d'emissions a Radio-Canada, l'âme cherie de centaines de cabarets de Montreal, l'intouchable des nuits interlopes, seduisant par sa personnalite et son inimitable talent. Ce Lion, marginal et rompu aux principes d'une bonne education, a la classe des etres uniques et incorruptibles. Ce livre est un portrait hors du commun, dense, riche et rempli de curiosites ? un regard unique sur une star sans pretention. Etaye de photographies, Vic Vogel Histoires de jazz survole toute la vie du musicien pour, parfois, s'attarder sur quelques episodes marquants. Enfance, conquete du piano, decouverte de la rue et du monde, coups de c?ur et deceptions.
