Abstract
En 2009, le Parc Naturel Régional du Massif des Bauges (PNRMB) a entamé les démarches ayant conduit à son admission dans le réseau européen des Geoparks (European Geopark Network -EGN) en septembre 2011. L'analyse des contraintes internes et externes au développement du PNRMB montre que celles-ci sont en phase avec la mission des Geoparks (partie I). La démarche geopark repose sur un inventaire des géopatrimoines, que nous avons commencé à réaliser en privilégiant les géotopes et géosites présents le long des sentiers de randonnée et en l 'accompagnant de recommandations d'aménagement (partie II). Ces dernières invitent à élargir l'analyse, en montrant comment, selon le modèle de développement local de Klein (2006), la démarche Geopark aurait toutes les caractéristiques nécessaires afin d'amorcer une rétroaction positive qui engendrerait d'autres initiatives locales (partie III).
