이 글은 OECD의 국제개발협력을 전담하고 있는 개발원조위원회(Development Assistance Committee:이하 OECD/DAC) 산하의 8개 주제별 작업반의 하나로, 성 평등과 여성역량강화 활동 을 전담하고 있는 젠더네트워크(DAC Network on Gender: GenderNet, 이하 젠더넷)의 역할과 활동내용을 소개하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이는 올해 1월 1일부터 우리나라가 OECD/DAC의 회원국 으로 활동하게 됨에 따라, 국제사회의 개발협력에 대한 주제영역별 이슈들과 모범사례 및 교훈들을 우리의 ODA 정책과 실천과정에 적용하기 위한 탐구 노력의 일환이라 할 수 있다.
