Abstract
Las apropiaciones que el arte urbano hace de determinados bienes patrimoniales han generado espacios controversiales que conducen a reflexiones más amplias tanto en el ámbito institucional como artístico. En este trabajo se analiza la intervención del artista J .Guénette a través de retratos de mujeres de la historia local sobre las superficies de la Casa McLean (1845) . Se plantean los límites y desbordes que se generan cuando el arte de estética contemporánea se apropia legalmente de bienes patrimoniales. Se cuestiona la manera en que ambos, patrimonio y arte, generan nuevos usos sociales del espacio público urbano. De esta forma se evidencia la coexistencia, pertenencia y apropiación del espacio patrimonial y del arte público, desde la contradictoria relación de lo efímero y la resistencia al paso del tiempo.
