Det finns många förväntningar på kursvärderingar. De formella skrivningarna i högskolelagen säger att studenterna har rätt att utöva inflytande på sin utbildning vilket i förordningen uttryckts genom deras rätt att göra en värdering av kurser. Lärare har önskemål om återkoppling både medan en kurs ges, gärna som en del i ett lärande, och som underlag i ett kursutvecklingsarbete. Värderingarna har också kommit att bli en viktig komponent i kvalitetsarbetet inom universitet och högskolor. Därtill genomgår värderingar en utveckling av digitalisering och automation.
 Vi diskuterar i detta bidrag de motsättningar som de olika förväntningarna resulterar i och relaterar dessa till en tanke kring ett partnerskap i utbildningen. I våra slutsatser landar vi i att digitalisering och automation ändå ger oss möjligheter att se kvalitetsarbete och kursutveckling i ett nytt perspektiv där det formella studentinflytandet kan ge ett bra underlag för ett reellt studentinflytande.
