Abstract
Gerald of Wales was a Cambro‐Norman churchman active in the late twelfth and early thirteenth centuries. He was a prolific writer, mostly in Latin prose. His works cover a wide range of genres and topics, but his most influential works were his four texts on Ireland and Wales. These texts focus on Irish and Welsh history, geography, and society and were key sources of information on the two countries in England and Continental Europe for much of the Middle Ages.
