Abstract
Ne reconnaissant plus spontanément la légitimité d’un tiers au nom duquel sacrifier une part de leur jouissance, les individus accéderaient plus difficilement à l’ordre symbolique, autrement dit à la subjectivation, à la socialisation, voire à la solidarité : c’est l’analyse du contemporain partagée par Jean-Pierre Lebrun et Dany-Robert Dufour, dans une perspective qui allie la psychanalyse et la philosophie politique. À partir de cette prémisse, il s’agira dans cet article d’analyser le roman de Simon Leduc, L’évasion d’Arthur ou la commune d’Hochelaga, en présentant la logique selon laquelle cette tension entre l’autorité et la démocratie, entre le passé et le présent, se déploie. Prenant le parti de l’ironie, le roman explore la conflictualité propre à cette tension, sans la résoudre. La présente analyse soutient que l’écriture — celle qui est mise en scène, mais aussi celle que le texte suppose — se présente comme une résolution partielle, donnant à lire le texte comme un espace démocratique où le langage fait figure et fonction de tiers.
