Abstract
Ce texte décrit succinctement les réactions de deuil les plus courantes chez les enfants et met en lumière les caractéristiques particulières associées au deuil à la suite d’un suicide. En dépit de la dimension tragique du suicide pour ceux qui restent, l’adaptation de l’enfant face à la perte dépendra, pour une large part, de l’adaptation de son ou ses parents. Elle dépendra également de la quantité et de la qualité du soutien disponible durant les mois et même les années qui suivront la perte, tout comme de l’habileté du parent à assumer ses nouveaux rôles, de l’ouverture, de la franchise et de la manière adaptée avec laquelle l’adulte discutera du suicide avec l’enfant.
