Abstract
La vue est un sens très sollicité dans l’oeuvre de la romancière franco-suisse Pascale Kramer née à Genève en 1961 : plus spontanée que le regard, la vue survole une multitude de scènes intimes et rechigne à en prendre conscience. Les personnages des romans de Kramer sont des spectateurs passifs de tableaux sociaux variés, frappés par tout type de pulsion (scopique, érotique, de répétition) et victimes de précarité morale. Les oeuvres publiées par Kramer depuis vingt-trois ans, de Manu (1995) à Une famille (2018), constituent une mise en scène stylistiquement savante du voyeurisme contemporain, dans laquelle les personnages (et les lecteurs avec eux) sont condamnés à une suspension de leur jugement éthique. En ayant recours à Derrida, Freud, Jankélévitch, Lipovetsky, Pontalis et Vaneigem, notre étude montre, chez Kramer, l’inconstance du paradigme « voir c’est savoir », ainsi que sa poétique délibérée de l’impasse morale.
