Este artigo descreve as bases conceituais da abordagem colaborativa de pesquisa em educação, especificamente, aquela abordagem que reúne pesquisadores universitários e docentes acerca de questões relativas ao seu exercício profissional. Três enunciados estruturam esta conceituação: 1) a abordagem colaborativa supõe um processo de co-construção entre os parceiros envolvidos; 2) joga simultaneamente sobre dois registros, que é o da produção de conhecimentos e o do desenvolvimento profissional dos docentes;\n3) contribui para a aproximação e mediação entre comunidade de pesquisa\ne escolar. No horizonte desses três enunciados se perfila uma visão socioconstrutivista do “saber” a ser desenvolvido, a partir de um processo coletivo de interpretação, no qual teoria e prática se relacionam constantemente.
