Abstract
In questo studio si analizza la Trilogia dello scrittore italo-canadese Nino Ricci, in cui il romanzo di formazione di Vittorio Innocente si articola tra il viaggio di andata dall’Italia — terra della madre — al Canada — terra del padre — e il viaggio di ritorno in patria da adulto. Dominata dalla relazione edipica, la formazione di Vittorio è dolorosa e nessun approdo sembra offrire risposte alla ricerca del Sé, al contrario il ritorno è doloroso quanto la partenza. Inoltre, lo studio mette in luce come la Trilogia si configuri come cartografia dell’altrove, in cui il paradigma della linea curva e della griglia squadrata definiscono gli spazi al di qua e al di là dell'Oceano. La saggistica accademica sull'autore e sulla Trilogia, in particolare, ha fornito l'orizzonte critico di riferimento.
