Abstract
Fruit de leur enseignement sur la presence du mythe dans la litterature, l'essai de Georges Desmeules et Gilles Pellerin s'adresse aux nombreux professeurs qui enseignent la mythologie non pas tant dans la perspective de raconter les aventures de heros prodigieux que pour en degager le sens que ceux-ci continuent a secreter, bien que des œuvres phares comme l' Illiade et l' Odyssee aient ete ecrites il y a pres de trois millenaires. Le recours a la theorie litteraire et le recoupement des personnages dans des sequences empruntees aux deux epopees d'Homere et aux tragedies antiques permet d'expliquer l'incomparable grandeur de ces figures heroiques et notre propre fascination a leur egard. Les auteurs enseignent la litterature au college Francois-Xavier-Garneau de Quebec. Ils ont chacun fait paraitre plusieurs essais et etudes sur la litterature.
