Abstract
This paper explores and analyses the use of social media by users as a way of majority domination, and its impact upon the human rights and fundamental freedoms of the comparatively weak and minority social media users. Drawing upon the Sociological theory of Spiral of Silencing, and analyzing a user study on sexual harassment done on Bangladeshi women, the paper tries to see how this theory may apply and play to those people who by virtue of their opinion are deemed minority on virtual platforms. Finally, the paper will enunciate the legal ramifications under the International Human Rights regime.
