Abstract
Cet article propose d’étudier la manière dont la littérature féministe québécoise s’est constituée, dans les années 1970, en relation avec les productions théoriques et littéraires françaises et américaines. Les Québécoises voyagent aux États-Unis et se nourrissent de ce qu’elles y apprennent ; les essais militants les intéressent, ceux de K. Millett, S. Firestone, B. Friedan ; mais le rapport d’influence avec les États-uniennes est unilatéral, les États-uniennes se souciant assez peu de ce qui se passe au Québec. En revanche, on peut parler de vrais échanges entre féministes françaises et québécoises ; elles partagent essais historiques et féministes, textes psychanalytiques ou littéraires ; elles participent aux mêmes revues et se retrouvent dans des congrès internationaux. Ainsi, au moment des années 1970, on peut parler de « traversées québécoises » : même si la littérature féministe québécoise ne s’est jamais placée en situation de dépendance par rapport aux créations états-uniennes et françaises, elle les a visitées pour en tirer de quoi se construire elle-même, avec ou sans leur participation active.
