L’orthographe moderne au fil des siècles dans les grammaires : de l’intervention en orthographe à la consignation de l’orthographe

Abstract
L’étude évalue quelle perspective les grammaires adoptent face à l’orthographe moderne de leur époque. Pour ce faire, nous analysons un corpus de grammaires parues entre le XVIe siècle et aujourd’hui. Nous les associons à une périodisation de l’orthographe française en cinq phases. En vérifiant quelle place les ouvrages accordent à l’orthographe et quel avis ils émettent au sujet de la modernité en orthographe, nous avons constaté que l’orthographe moderne est davantage exposée dans les ouvrages contemporains, mais que les grammaires se concentrent désormais surtout sur la transcription des phonèmes au sein d’un système et, dans les faits, n’interviennent plus dans le domaine de l’orthographe.
