Abstract
Dans cet article, nous nous intéressons à la conception de l’université des gouvernements de Maurice Duplessis de 1936 à 1959. Plus précisément, nous défendons la thèse selon laquelle les unionistes conçoivent l’université à la fois comme un élément important du rayonnement de la culture franco-catholique et comme un outil capital du développement économique. D’ailleurs, puisqu’une large part du modèle économique de l’Union nationale est basée sur les ressources naturelles, Duplessis et ses ministres s’affairent à lier le développement universitaire aux richesses géologiques, hydrauliques et forestières.
