Abstract
Cet article identifie et caractérise une nouvelle représentation sociale de l’environnement, celle de l’environnement-label qui vient s’ajouter à la typologie des sept représentations sociales qui résulte de la recherche en éducation relative à l’environnement menée par Sauvé et Garnier en 2000. Une telle représentation a émergé d’analyses produites dans le cadre de notre recherche doctorale. Cette recherche avait pour but d’étudier la dynamique dialogique du savoir environnemental, soit principalement, la construction et les échanges de savoirs intervenant à l’occasion d’une démarche participative Agenda 21 local, démarche qui applique et promeut les principes du cadre référentiel du développement durable. Cet article contextualise l’analyse qui permet le repérage de cette représentation sociale de l’environnement, ancrée dans la communication, soit la communication territoriale pour le cas présent. La représentation sociale de l’environnement-label semble répondre à une préoccupation de plus en plus affirmée d’un environnement envisagé comme objet de communication. Dans cette perspective, il semble opportun de porter attention aux enjeux éducationnels associés, notamment dans une perspective analytique et critique.
