La conscience translinguistique des futurs enseignants de français de la Saskatchewan : le cas des déterminants possessifs

Abstract
Dans le cadre de cet article, nous décrivons la conscience translinguistique, en anglais et en français, liée aux déterminants possessifs chez neuf futurs enseignants de français de la Saskatchewan. Autrement dit, nous rendons compte, à l’aide de données issues d’un questionnaire à questions ouvertes et d’une tâche de traduction justifiée, de leur habileté à utiliser ces déterminants en production, à en expliquer le fonctionnement dans les deux langues et à en retracer les similitudes et les différences en français et en anglais. Les résultats montrent notamment que les participants savent utiliser ces déterminants dans les deux langues et qu’ils en comprennent le fonctionnement en français. En ce qui concerne l’anglais, les explications du fonctionnement des déterminants possessifs que proposent nos participants sont généralement pertinentes, quoiqu’elles ne le soient pas autant que celles ayant trait au français.
