Die anhaltende Aktivität des systemischen Lupus erythematodes (SLE) ist mit einer erhöhten Morbidität und Mortalität assoziiert. Wissenschaftler der 1000 Canadian Faces of Lupus-Studie werteten die Daten der an der multizentrischen Studie beteiligten SLE-Patienten aus und beschrieben Persistenz, Muster und Prädiktoren für die Veränderung der Krankheitsaktivität im Laufe der Zeit.
