La participation à des projets culturels semble offrir de nombreux bénéfices, mais elle n’est pas toujours clairement définie. Reconnaissant que les arts ne sont pas neutres d’un point de vue social, notre recherche a pris en compte les spécificités de la création artistique pour étudier la participation d’élèves du primaire à un projet de création avec des artistes, en particulier ces effets sur les élèves, les artistes et les enseignants. De type ethnographique, cette recherche a exploité l’analyse d’entretiens semi-directifs avec des élèves, une artiste et un enseignant ainsi que des observations réalisées durant les différentes étapes du projet de création avec les élèves. L’interprétation de ses résultats questionne comment la participation à des activités artistiques peut activer un projet d’émancipation par un partage du sensible en développant une posture d’auteur.
