Abstract
La critique en littérature franco-ontarienne s’est longtemps focalisée sur l’esthétique de l’exiguïté pour en interpréter les oeuvres. En règle générale, l’esthétique de l’exiguïté, associée à la cause franco-ontarienne et à la minorisation linguistique, est implicitement portée par des hommes blancs. Sans complètement se détacher de cette esthétique, la présente contribution en propose une interprétation renouvelée et plus inclusive. Comme l’indique François Paré dans Les littératures de l’exiguïté, le principe de base de cette esthétique est un rapport inégal au pouvoir. Mon article part donc de ce constat pour renouveler l’esthétique de l’exiguïté et faire éclater le sujet minoritaire en abordant d’autres marginalités, comme le genre et l’orientation sexuelle. Mon analyse se base sur les oeuvres de Véronique-Marie Kaye et de Catherine Bellemare, deux écrivaines qui peuvent être rapprochées de la relève franco-ontarienne et qui ont recours à une écriture trash pour dire le fait marginal.
