Abstract
Être chez soi, habiter, se sentir chez soi, emménager, pour certaines personnes c’est un événement connu et habituel. Pour d’autres, par exemple des hommes en centre d’hébergement et de réinsertion sociale, au projet d’avoir un logement succèdent l’échec, la fuite, le refus, mais également la peur. Pas la peur d’avoir un logement mais celle de ne pas pouvoir ou de ne pas savoir comment l’habiter et le faire sien. Car au-delà du bâti que constitue le logement, le fait de « demeurer » ou d’« être logé » ne suffit pas à dire que l’on est « chez soi » et que l’on y « habite ». Habiter suggère une démarche spirituelle et intime. À travers la métaphore du voyage, le centre d’hébergement se pense ici comme une escale, où l’expérience d’habitation collective se vit comme une initiation. Celle de l’appropriation des espaces, de soi et de son histoire pour développer la possibilité d’investir ailleurs un nouvel espace à faire sien. Une nouvelle habitation.
