Fragilidade, funcionalidade e qualidade de vida de pacientes em hemodiálise: estudo transversal

Abstract

Introdução: Alterações fisiológicas da doença renal nos adultos em hemodiálise parecem acelerar o envelhecimento e favorecer a fragilidade. Objetivo: Verificar frequência de fragilidade e repercussões clínicas, funcionais e na qualidade de vida de adultos em hemodiálise. Método: Estudo transversal com 17 participantes, agrupados em frágil/não frágil (Escala de Fragilidade de Edmonton). Avaliadas: funcionalidade (Medida de Independência Funcional), força de preensão palmar (dinamometria), velocidade da marcha (teste de velocidade de marcha de 4,6 metros) e qualidade de vida (KDQOL). Resultados: Cerca de 50% caracterizou-se como frágil. Preservada a independência funcional entre os grupos, entretanto a força de preensão palmar mostrou-se reduzida pelos critérios do fenótipo de fragilidade. O grupo frágil obteve menores escores em alguns domínios do KDQOL. Conclusão: A fragilidade pareceu frequente nessa população, embora a funcionalidade e velocidade da marcha apresentaram-se preservadas. Foi verificado redução da força de preensão palmar e menores pontuações na qualidade de vida no grupo frágil.
