Cet article présente les résultats d’une enquête sur les trajectoires de 58 œuvres d’art de Lasar Segall confisquées dans le cadre de « l’Action contre l’art dégénéré » menée par les nazis. Le cas particulier de l’artiste russe permet d’observer ces types de politiques de dénonciations et de spoliations avant, pendant et après le régime hitlérien sous un autre angle. Le devenir des œuvres de Segall qui étaient présentes dans les collections publiques allemandes avant 1937 éclaire les dynamiques culturelles, politiques et sociales qui ont secoué l’Allemagne entre 1918 et 1945.
