Abstract
Pierre Boucher (Mortagne-au-Perche, Orne, 1622 – Boucherville, Québec, 1717) a écrit une Histoire véritable et naturelle des mœurs et productions du pays de la Nouvelle-France, vulgairement dite le Canada, parue en 1664. Je me propose d’aborder son récit comme je l’ai fait pour Samuel de Champlain à l’occasion du 20e congrès de la Biennale de la langue française en 2003, mon objectif étant de rechercher les caractéristiques régionales de son lexique. C’est assez dire que cette approche de « la langue » de Pierre Boucher est très ciblée.
