Abstract
The international conference held at IIT Kanpur February 4 th –6 th, 2009 was co-organized by Dr. Binay K. Pattnaik (Convener) and Dr. Nadia Asheulova. 52 papers were presented over three days by scholars from six countries:India, Russia, Mexico, China, USA and Canada. The largest contingent of foreign delegates was from the Russian Federation. After welcoming the participants on Feb 4 th 2009 morning, the Convener spelled out the Conference rationale and objectives.
