Abstract
On ne peut déterminer unilatéralement une norme de la tolérance sans prendre en considération la pluralité des contextes. La comparaison de la gestion des différences au Canada et en France révèle deux interprétations irréconciliables de la tolérance. En France la tolérance repose sur la séparation de l’Église et de l’État. Le Canada reconnaît que l’application d’une loi universelle peut se révéler discriminante dans ses effets pour certains citoyens en raison de leurs particularités.
