Le théâtre à l’école en France : une potentialité au service des apprentissages ?

Abstract
Quelle est la place du théâtre dans le système scolaire français, en tant qu’outil pour contribuer aux apprentissages et au bien-être des élèves ? Cet article vise à répondre à cette question en prenant appui sur une étude menée au Québec (Dubois & Tremblay, 2015) dans le but d’établir la place du théâtre dans les pratiques enseignantes. Reprenant leur méthodologie d’analyse appliquée au cas français, la première contribution de cet article réside dans le décalage observé entre les recommandations ministérielles et les formations proposées aux enseignants les préparant à l’utilisation du théâtre en milieu scolaire. Partant de ce constat, la deuxième partie de l’article est consacrée à la présentation des résultats de travaux en faveur de cette mobilisation du théâtre en contexte scolaire. Les pratiques d’utilisation du théâtre à l’école sont envisagées dans toute leur diversité, avec des travaux qui rapportent des bénéfices pour les élèves, tant sur le plan cognitif que motivationnel. Forte des résultats déjà disponibles, la pratique du théâtre en milieu scolaire est avancée comme une ligne de recherche prometteuse au service d’un meilleur développement des élèves.
