Abstract
Wisconsin -Madison and also serve as the Faculty Chair of the secondary teacher preparation MS program. My research career has been focused primarily on trying to answer questions that emerged when I was a middle school teacher -to better understand how interactions with different forms of media help young people to understand (or not) difficult and controversial historical events and contemporary issues. My interest in these questions has led me to develop my own understanding from fields such as media and cultural studies, film studies, learning science, and human-computer interaction.
