Abstract
Die vorliegende Arbeit will die Gründe und Motive der schweizerischen Teilnahme an der Lancierung des Marshallplans und an der Errichtung der “Organisation Européenne de Coopération Economique” (OECE) 1947-1948 erklären. Es wird von drei Rollenkonzeptionen ausgegangen, welche die schweizerische Aussenpolitik im letzten Jahrhundert massgeblich prägten. Dabei handelt es sich um die Neutralität, den Antikommunismus, sowie eine Sicht der Schweiz als einen apolitischen Wirtschaftsakteur. Für die vorliegende Untersuchung ist aus politologischer Sicht relevant, inwiefern und in welchem Ausmass die existierenden Rollenkonzeptionen die schweizerische Aussenpolitik gegenüber den Plänen für den europäischen Wiederaufbau erklären können.Diese Untersuchung gliedert sich in drei Teile. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die theoretischen Grundlagen und der Darlegung der Fragestellung im Kontext des Forschungsstandes folgt im Hauptteil die empirische Untersuchung. Das letzte Kapitel bewertet die vorhandenen Rollenkonzeptionen und versucht daraus Schlussfolgerungen zu ziehen.
